The current Holy Cross Cemetery was established in 1943 to supplement the depleted space of the original Old Holy Cross cemetery (established 1853) which is located around the block. The cemetery began and continues to be a flush monument only (no upright headstones), but added mausoleum complexes starting in the 1950's. The newest addition, completed in 1997, surrounds the Chapel mausoleum complex and features murals depicting scenes from the life of Christ.

The cemetery serves the Holy Cross Parish community, as well as the parishes of St. Joseph's, Resurrection, Star of The Sea, and nearby parishes in Corralitos, Watsonville, Felton, and Scott's Valley.

Services provided at Holy Cross Cemetery

Ground Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery provides a selection of ground interment property to individuals and families on an immediate need basis and also for pre-planning. Double depth and traditional side by side (single) burials can be arranged. Gravesite prices range in value from $800 to $2,000 depending on the location selected.

Crypt Entombment: For individuals and families who prefer above ground interment, our Chapel and Garden mausoleum complexes offers single and companion arrangements. Crypt prices range from $2,000 to $5,000 for singles and $5,000 to $12,000 for doubles.

Cremated Remains: Holy Cross provides for the permanent care and memorialization of cremated remains. Individuals and families may select from ground burial in urn sites that range in value from $200 - $500. Above ground inurnment in specially designed niches are available from $500 to $1,200.

Services: Labor fees for interment services (known as opening & closing), apply when a gravesite, mausoleum or niche site is prepared for the interment service. Outer burial receptacles (burial or urn vaults) are required where applicable within the cemetery. The Cemetery offers Committal services in our St. Charles Chapel, or at Graveside, Cryptside and Nicheside at no extra charge.

Memorialization: Memorial Monuments (headstones) may be arranged through the cemetery office. Currently, only flat granite and bronze memorials are allowed. We also offer memorial pictures, benches, religious emblems and statues in specific areas throughout the cemetery.

Payment Terms: A minimum deposit of 20% is required on pre-need purchases, however, special terms are also available for people in need. Interest free financing is available. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

Hours of Visitation: 8:00 a.m. to dusk each day of the year.

Office Hours: 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, (appointments are appreciated). Saturdays by appointment only.
