Services provided at San Carlos Cemetery
Ground Burial:
San Carlos provides a
selection of ground interment property to individuals and families on an
immediate need basis and also for pre-planning. Double depth and
traditional side by side (single) burials can be arranged.
Crypt Entombment:
For individuals and families who prefer above ground interment, Our Lady of
Angels mausoleums offer single and companion arrangements along with niches
for cremation burials
Cremated Remains:
San Carlos provides for the
permanent care and memorialization of cremated remains. Individuals and
families may select from ground burial urn sites and above ground inurnment
in specially designed niches. San Carlos Cemetery does not operate a
crematory.
Services: Labor fees for interment
services (known as opening & closing), apply when a gravesite, mausoleum or niche site
is prepared for the interment service. Outer burial receptacles (burial or urn vaults) are
required where applicable within the cemetery. San Carlos Cemetery offers Committal
services in our Santa Rosalia Chapel, or at Graveside, Cryptside and Nicheside at no extra
charge.
Memorialization: Monument
and inscription work may be arranged through the cemetery office. Both flat and upright
monuments (headstones) as well as memorial pictures, religious emblems and
statues are available in specific areas throughout the cemetery.
Payment Terms: A minimum deposit of
10%
is required on pre-need purchases. Interest free financing is available. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
Hours of Visitation: 8:00 a.m. to dusk
daily
Office Hours: 8:30 a.m.-
12:00 p.m. and 1:30pm - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, (appointments are
appreciated).

than 175 years later, San Carlos Cemetery is still open and serving the eight local
parishes of Our Lady of Refuge (Castroville), St. Jude's (Marina), St. Francis Xavier
(Seaside), San Carlos (Monterey), St. Angela's (Pacific Grove), Carmel Mission, St. Joseph
(Spreckels) and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Carmel Valley).
